Harry Reid Calls Major DSCC & Landrieu Donor “Un-American.” Does Landrieu Agree?
Will Landrieu return the $55,000 in contributions she’s received from ‘un-American’ Koch Industries PAC?
WASHINGTON - A report yesterday from the New York Times highlighted a new strategy by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), which is supporting Mary Landrieu’s re-election campaign, to attack Republicans for associating with groups tied to the so-called “Koch Brothers.” That strategy was on full display when Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid took to the floor and derided the Koch’s as “un-American.” The Louisiana Democrat Party hasjoined in similar attacks.
All of this is a curious strategy, given that not only has the DSCC solicited and accepted funds from Koch Industries PAC, but so has Mary Landrieu – to the tune of $55,000 according to the non-partisan watchdog Center for Responsive Politics.
“It’s clear there is no limit to the amount of hypocrisy Mary Landrieu and her allies will resort to in order to distract from her record of supporting President Obama’s liberal agenda 97 percent of the time,” said RNC spokesman Michael Short. “Does Mary Landrieu agree with Harry Reid that the donors she’s taken $55,000 from are ‘un-American,’ and how soon will she return those contributions?”
