Landrieu's DC Values Shape Extreme Pro-Abortion Stance
Senator Landrieu’s record on pro-life issues couldn’t be any more out of step with mainstream Louisiana. Despite representing the , Landrieu has amassed a zero percent pro-life rating over the last six years. There have been 14 opportunities for her to vote on bills dealing with the sanctity of life, and each time Landrieu voted against life. Her vote for ObamaCare has even led to tax dollars being used to fund abortions.
Landrieu has continuously mislead voters about her position. In 2002, she claimed she supported the Hyde Amendment and protecting life “from the moment of conception” despite previously voting to spend taxpayer dollars on abortions overseas and later to endorse Roe v. Wade. Now Landrieu has taken the extreme step of opposing bans on late-term abortions, calling such legislation “a shame” despite the fact most Americans support the measure.
“On the issue of life, like so many other issues, Landrieu ignores mainstream Louisiana values and votes like the Washington, D.C. liberal she is. Louisiana voters will judge Senator Landrieu for her failure to stand up for the unborn and the sanctity of life.” – Ben Voelkel, RNC spokesman
