Will Landrieu Back Reid on False ObamaCare Promise?
Majority Leader Harry Reid doubled down on one of the biggest political deceptions in modern history. Reid insisted "I still go back and say what I said earlier. What [President Obama] said was true. If you want to keep the insurance you have you can keep it."
This raises a significant question: Does Mary Landrieu agree with Harry Reid that Louisianans will still be able to keep their health care if they like it? If Reid's claim is true, why is Landrieu promoting legislation that seems to run counter to that claim?
Despite Mary Landrieu's repeated promises otherwise, nearly 93,000 Louisianans' health insurance policies are in jeopardy. That reality is because Landrieu was the deciding vote for ObamaCare and even joined Senate Democrats to support the very ObamaCare rule that's responsible for the health insurance cancellations that have caused so much consternation for more than a month.
"For the last three years, Mary Landrieu, Barack Obama and Harry Reid repeatedly made blatantly false promises about ObamaCare," said NRSC Press Secretary Brook Hougesen. "Now that Harry Reid insists that the promise they made was true, does Mary Landrieu stand by it as well? After all the deceptions, lies and broken promises about ObamaCare over the last four years, Louisianans have a hard time believing anything that Mary Landrieu and her liberal friends in Washington say about the unpopular law."
