Mary Landrieu Broke Her Promise
Not long ago, Democrat Mary Landrieu echoed President Obama, promising Louisianans that under ObamaCare, "If you like the insurance that you have, you'll be able to keep it.”
That's just not true. News outlets note that "more than two million Americans have been told they cannot renew their current insurance policies -- more than triple the number of people said to be buying insurance under the new Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare."
Now, top Democratic leaders in Washington admit that they actually knew middle class Americans would lose their coverage because of ObamaCare:
"House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer conceded to reporters today that Democrats knew people would not be able to keep their current health care plans under Obamacare and expressed qualified contrition for President Obama’s repeated vows to the contrary. We knew that there would be some policies that would not qualify and therefore people would be required to get more extensive coverage."
Mary Landrieu knew that Louisianans would lose their healthcare, yet she continued to echo false promises about ObamaCare to voters in Louisiana. Now families, workers, and women are just starting to realize that they are unable to keep their doctors and their health care plans – despite President Obama and Mary Landrieu's repeated promises otherwise.
"Mary Landrieu knew that many Louisianans would lose their health care plans under ObamaCare, yet she continued to deceive them and promise otherwise. Now her broken promises are coming back to haunt her," said NRSC Press Secretary Brook Hougesen. "Folks in Louisiana who have seen their health care costs skyrocket or have lost their health care plans know that Mary Landrieu simply can't be trusted to keep her word."
