Democratic National Committee: Mary Landrieu Will Run on ObamaCare in 2014
One would think that Democrats like Mary Landrieu would be terrified of the disastrous repercussions they'll face in 2014 due to their broken promises about ObamaCare. Less than six weeks after its launch, Louisianans are already losing their current health care plans and face skyrocketing costs.
But over the weekend Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz told Candy Crowley on CNN, "Democratic candidates will be able to run on ObamaCare as an advantage leading into the 2014 election."
Yet, one minute later Wasserman Schultz was left tongue tied when Crowley pointed out that hundreds of thousands of people have had their health insurance cancelled.
Despite Mary Landrieu's promise that under ObamaCare, "those individuals who like the coverage they already have will be able to keep their current plan", nearly 93,000 Louisianans are now losing their health care plan.
"Mary Landrieu wasn't being honest when she promised that everyone could keep their health plans if they liked them, and as a result many Louisianans are losing their health care plans and face skyrocketing costs. It comes as welcome news to us that Democrats like Mary Landrieu are going to make ObamaCare the focus of their campaign," said NRSC Press Secretary Brook Hougesen.
LANDRIEU: “Lower and middle income people would receive subsidies to help them afford this insurance, while those individuals who like the coverage they already have will be able to keep their current plan. This is a very accurate description of this bill before us--the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.”
